About us

Chef/Owner Stephanie Bellus Frey is a graduate of the Culinary Arts program of the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago.  She has cooked professionally at La Tache French Bistro, Osteria Via Stato, and the Whitehall Hotel / Fornetto Mei.   Prior to her culinary career, she was an interior designer for corporate office projects.

Her culinary interests lie in contemporary American food and in classic cuisine.  Her intent for Convergence Cuisine is to offer great-tasting food, artfully presented, and consistently exceptional service.

Her menus take advantage of fresh, seasonal and locally produced organic foods whenever possible, and her business approach is environmentally friendly and gentle to the earth's resources, by minimizing waste and pollutants, recycling, and conscientious use of energy and natural resources.
